Expofinder

Expofinder is a repository of structured data on art exhibitions held in Spain. It includes information on 26,924 exhibitions with all their associated metadata.

Although the Expofinder corpus records data on exhibitions held in Spain from the 19th century to the present day, the time range that currently presents the most systematic data corresponds to the period 2010-2016.

At Expofinder you will find the corpus Andalexa specific repository of exhibitions held in Andalusia from 2000 to 2018. This specific corpus was developed within the framework of the project Data methodologies applied to the analysis of art exhibitions for the development of the creative economy financed by the Andalusian Studies Centre of the Andalusian Regional Government. Likewise, the time range with the greatest systematicity of the data is 2008-2018.

Expofinder is an open project that continues to record information on a regular and systematic basis.

For more information on the data model, please refer to section X of this website, or to article X.

The data recorded in Expofinder is open data that can be accessed, analysed and downloaded via Pathfinder.

OntoExhibit

OntoExhibit v. 1.0 is an ontology designed for the representation, publication and reuse of codified and semantically enriched information from the domain of art exhibitions and their associated socio-discursive practices. The Expofinder conceptual model has been the starting point for the design and construction of the ontology, which has taken into account the alignment with reference ontologies, especially with CIDOC-CRM and FRBoo for the definition of some classes and properties.

Similarly, some of the reused classes have been extended and new classes and properties have been created. In this way, OntoExhibit adds qualitative value and provides a new modelling dimension specifically adapted to the field of exhibitions. Complementarily, the OntoExhibit model has also been aligned with the Europeana data model to facilitate data aggregation.
