The museology of the present. Polyphonic accounts of museology in transculture (University of Malaga - Complutense University of Madrid - Centre Pompidou Malaga)

Congress

Under the title "The museology of the present. Polyphony of museological narratives in transculture", the seminar coordinated by Modesta Di Paola, lecturer in the Department of Art History at the University of Málaga, brought together experts in museology to reflect on the current and future transformations of museums in the 21st century. The papers addressed topics such as the relationship between museums and universities, wellbeing, social conceptualisation, urban transformations, virtuality, performative action, cultural hyper-technification, sustainability and multi-species awareness. The event was inaugurated by José M.ª Luna and was attended by M.ª Jesús Martínez Silvente, with lectures by Javier Arnaldo and Nuria Rodríguez Ortega, one of the main researchers of Complexxihibit. These initiatives seek to consolidate the Department of History of Art at the University of Málaga as a benchmark in museological studies, key to the culture of Malaga's capital city.
