Complexhibit collaborates in the development of the Getafe Virtual Museum
The past 11 September a working meeting took place in Madrid between the team from Complexhibit and the Association of Friends of the Getafe MuseumThe aim is to make progress in the project to create and consolidate the Virtual Museum of Getafe.
This is a knowledge transfer initiative led by the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) and directed by M.ª Luisa Díez Platasin which Complexhibit is an active partner. The project was launched in 2019 and already has a first version available online: https://museo.getafe.es/omeka/.
At present, the main objective is to provide the virtual museum with a greater conceptual and technological consistency. To this end, work is being carried out on the design of a museum plan ad hoc and in the transformation of the current site into a semantic web space guided by ontologies. In this framework, the alignment with OntoExhibitThe aim is to ensure a robust conceptual basis and to extend the possibilities for interoperability.
The project is also characterised by its strong participatory dimension. The Virtual Museum of Getafe is being built thanks to the efforts, dedication and commitment of the Association of Friends of the Getafe Museumwhich makes it an example of project community-based. This citizen collaboration not only strengthens the value of the museum itself, but also enriches the conceptualisation and design of OntoExhibit by incorporating new social and cultural perspectives.
With this alliance, Complexhibit reaffirms its commitment to applied research in the field of virtual museums, the semantic web and citizen participationcontributing to the development of an innovative model that connects heritage, technology and community.
